Reading manga can sure make you hungry!

Food appears frequently in manga, but what exactly is it that the characters are eating? Introducing The Manga Cookbook, an illustrated step-by-step guide to preparing Japanese cuisine.

We created The Manga Cookbook for every fan who's ever wondered what is it the characters in their favorite Japanese comics are eating. Our goal was to make a cookbook simple enough that anyone, even a complete novice

could learn to cook basic Japanaese food minutes after picking up the book. So instead of using dense text and vague photos, everything is clearly drawn out in manga form by the masterful Chihiro Hattori (illustrator of the Kanji de Manga series).

At the same time, we made sure experienced cooks who are looking to discover the secrets of Japanese cuisine can learn all about the ingredients and techniques that make Japanese food so special.

The Manga Cookbook is 160 pages -- contains 27 recipes and 16 full-color pages with photos, art, and instruction.

The recipes in The Manga Cookbook range from traditional to more modern Japanese dishes, but all of them were hand picked by certified nutritionist and chef Yoko Ishihara to be just as nutritious as they are fun to make.

Each major recipe also contains cultural notes, different variations you can try out, and of course, references to Manga that feature the recipe.
